Guitar Hero 4 Rumors

December 14th, 2007

Ever since the launch of the new Guitar Hero 3 there have already been rumors about a Guitar Hero 4 currently already under development. I will list any sites that I find about Guitar Hero 4 here. If you have a source or article I do not have listed please send it in!

Confirmed Information:

  • There will be another Guitar Hero Game Released in 2008 featuring Aerosmith.

The Rumor Mill:
01/09/2008 – Guitar Hero 4-6?
Excerpt:
As much as I love Guitar Hero, the rumors that there will be three (you read it, three) more full Guitar Hero titles released in 2008 is a bit overwhelming.

12/03/2007 – Big Surprise: Guitar Hero 4 Confirmed – Joystiq.com
Excerpt:
Activision’s biggest pre-merger franchises are all (GASP!) getting sequel treatment. In a fact sheet concerning the Activision Blizzard deal (PDF file), the publisher lists Guitar Hero 4, Call of Duty 5, a new Tony Hawk title (which would be its 11th iteration), a James Bond game and a racing title with the recently-acquired Bizarre Creations, as well as licensed titles with Dreamworks and Marvel.

9/04/2007 – Aerosmith hits studio in November – Billboard.com
Excerpt:
Besides the album, Aerosmith is also working closely with the makers of “Guitar Hero IV,” which will be dedicated to the Boston group’s music. “I don’t know much about the technical part of it,” Perry says, “but artistically we’re working hand in hand.”

Please, if you have any sources from anywhere post them in a comment and I will list them here.

    ok look here’s an idea!!!!
    why not put bands like
    blink 182
    panic at the disco
    and modern rock like that
but ALSO put classic rock, hard rock, metal, and EVERY OTJER ROCK or whatever as long as its got som good guitar in it….
    sound reasonable??
and dont go on bashing about “oh that band has no good crap in it”
the solution is simple. they can be the beginning songs.

To those of you arguing back and forth about who’s better AC/DC or Aerosmith, you obviously spend way too much time commenting or playing Guitar Hero. BTW, my 12 yr. old daughter could probably put you all out on the back porch.

i agree totally with Rubenoso on that tool deal, Tool FTW, but yeah, a metal guiter hero would seriously kick ass, add in more SOAD, disturbed, cradle of filth, pantera, ozzy, sabbath, hell i wouldnt even mind some dethklok like from GH2, but yeah, get a tool song on there! there are at least SOME songs that are appropriate for a T game, get vicarious, appropriate and has ongoing guitar riffs unlike some tool songs >.<

also for ppl who want Zep songs, dont get ur hopes up high, theres no way theyd get it, it would be a pure miracle if they did, because only one product as of this day has been licensed to legally have a led song in it and that is the movie Almost Famous, and thats only because the creator was a friend of the band… but we can only hope

GH4 Should Have Led Zeppelin songs on it or even better there should be a game dedicated to them. Frankly GH3 so called LEGENDS OF ROCK doesn’t have any legends in it ( Except for Slash obviously) Whatever happenned to the real legends like Jimmy Hendrex, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and they should also get rid of the stupid made up characters who gives a fuck about them. O and by the way can you tell me if there has ever been a Jimmy Hendrix Song in any of the guitar hero series ihave only played 2 and 3. I Love the idea of the games but after i finish each of the games i am always a little dissapointed. One last thing, every body or nearly every body seems to want Heavy metal songs or new songs e.g Arctic Monkeys and stuff like that on GH4 but to be honest i think that there always be something on every game that they make that will dissapoint everyone e.g my ideal guitar hero would be made up of Led Zeppelin MOSTLY a bit of Jimmy Hendrix a bit of eric Clapton some Guns and Roses and bands of that era ( also many more that i may have forgot about between the 70′s and late 80′s) but this might not be your perfect game and vice versa for you perfect game might not be mine. The point is they should either make a game for the most popular styles of rock e’g Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and

This game sounds great!!! I’ve been a HUGE fan of all the other guitar hero games, but I’ve gotten bored since I’ve beaten every song on expert… I just need some new songs and I really want some more metal, hardcore rock songs. It needs some UNEARTH, BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE, and AVENGED SEVENFOLD. I’ve also heard that you will be able to make your own songs! Is this true? Email me please?

No to PS2 because of downloadable content. Period. It can’t be done on PS2. That is where Rockband is making a killing.

Billboard reports that Motley Crue’s latest single, released first as a downloadable Rock Band level, has so far sold more copies through MTV’s videogame than through iTunes.

The title track off the band’s upcoming album “Saints of Los Angeles” has reportedly sold over 47,000 copies at through just the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band, and around 10,000 copies through traditional music download services like iTunes and Amazon.

These guys need exodus. Their new album especially would be some great mid-set stuff, especially Children of a Worthless God. It’s long but the shredding in that song is unbelievable. Also MORE SLAYER! Angel of Death, Die by the Sword etc.

guitar hero wants to make their games well balanced so theres always gonna be popish songs or emo songs or whatever because different people have different taste…as for my wishlist…
    RUSH- tom sawyer
    THE WHO-who are you?
    UNEARTH-giles
FALL OUT BOY-where is your boy?
    METALLICA-where ever i may roam
    GREEN DAY-basketcase
    HENDRIX-purple haze, foxey lady, watchtower…
since i love all types of rock, im not gonna complain about the choices guitar hero does make but all i ask is that they dont cross over to any rap BS or anything like that cause that just kills the vibe of the game…

  18. June 18th, 2008 at 14:37 | #18

they should definately carry some jeff buckley, such as grace or mojo pin or vancouver. those songs are ridiculous. and i don’t even like metal, in fact i hate it, but guitar hero does need to carry it more instead of that emo crap they have on there now. some white stripes would be fantastic also

They need more punk, if you ask me. There was, what, two punk songs on GH3? And they were the Sex Pistols’ Anarchy in the UK(Johnny’s voice sounds horrible now; even though they didn’t have the masters they should have used the ’76 Anarchy) and the Dead Kennedys’ Holiday in Cambodia(the guy who sang sounded NOTHING like Jello Biafra). I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again–GH needs the Clash (which, thank God, they put on GHA), the Ramones (GH1 put I Wanna Be Sedated; they should take a look at Rock N’ Roll High School sometime), Patti Smith (anything off of Horses), and possibly even the Misfits (Die Die My Darling). I have a pretty strong feeling they’ll put a Rancid song on GH4 (Ruby Soho or Roots Radicals ar probably the two choices), but even then they’d need more punk. GET THAT EMO GARBAGE OFF THE GAME!!!
