Def Leppard Songs to Appear in Guitar Hero 4

March 27th, 2008

Note: There have been multiple comments confirming the story to be true. Looks like were seeing some Def Leppard on GH4!

I just received an email from someone stating that while Def Leppard was doing an interview on the radio show Rockline, A caller asked the band why none of their songs have been featured in either Guitar Hero or Rock band. To many fans happiness guitarist Phil Collen replied with the news that there will be at least 3 songs of theirs on the future Guitar Hero 4.

The songs he stated include:

  • Photograph
  • Animal
  • Rock of Ages

I didn’t actually hear it myself unfortunately. Can anyone else confirm this news? Leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Rockline seems to have a replay section that has past shows, but I guess they did not post the Def Leppard interview yet. When its posted I will throw a link to it up here.

Update** Missed it before, but it looks like the show on Rockline with the band won’t be posted until April 29th because they played songs from their upcoming album on the show.

The interview is said to be available on torrent sites if your interested check it.

Thanks for the tip Cody.

They won’t release the replay until April 29th. Says so on the front page. The show featured songs from the new album and they won’t post the replay until the album goes on sale. Poo.

Wow, no. Don’t believe whatever you read on the internet, guys. When the hell was the last time you saw a band have 3 songs on a single Guitar Hero game? The only time this has happened is when it was Downloadable Content (Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver). If Activision or Neversoft announces it, then it’s true, but this isn’t official.

I emailed rockline for some word on this and am waiting for a reply. 3 songs on a single game sounds a little far off, but mind you there is going to be more than one Guitar Hero game released this year. Maybe they meant just featured in Guitar Hero Games? I’ll see if i can get more details.

I listened to Rockline last night, and Phil definetly said there was 3 songs on Guitar Hero 4. How? I don’t know, but thats what he said.

This was indeed all said on Rockline last night and the above is true. A torrent of the show is available at…

And if you specifically download the file “Def Leppard on Rockline (26-Mar-2008) – 23 – Interview Part 12″ you will hear them discuss this specifically. I love Def Lep… can’t wait!

I never heard of a guitar hero game with 3 songs from one band but I have heard of the new one coming out this year Guitar Hero Aerosmith and I’m still waiting on them to put ACDC in one of the games

What has nine arms and sucks? :)

(I kid, I kid. I love Def Leppard. Hysteria was the very first CD I ever owned, back when CDs were new and exciting and rare.)

I listened to the rockline show and yes Phil Collen of Def Leppard said they have 3 songs on GH4 and that it is just being finalized with the record company etc… He said he believes they are Photograph, Rock of Ages and Animal.

No problem. :) I was quite thrilled to hear it, as both a Def Leppard fan and Guitar Hero fan.

Of course of course this opens up to plenty of cracks about drummer Rick Allen. :P

It’s a start. They still need Pour Some Sugar on Me, Hysteria, Love Bites, When Love and Hate Collide, Armageddon It, Let’s Get Rocked, Foolin’, Four Letter Word, and Rocket before I get a complete Def Leppard fix. But seriously, Animal alone is reason enough to get Guitar Hero IV.

I think they should have added Foolin’ because it has a guitar riff that is Guitar Hero quality, IMO.

Good points all over but… (my two cents now)

True no other GH has 3 songs from one artist so it’s quite possible GH4 won’t either. However whether or not 3 Def Lep songs appear on GH4 I could care less, having just 1 would make me happy. (High-N-Dry and Pyromania were 2 of the 1st Albums, yes albums I ever owned, no lying the first two I bought with my own money that is)

Anyway who’s to say GH doesn’t change up their format, and put 3 songs each from certain artists??? I mean so far we got GH1-3 and Encore. So 4 is next, usually around the 4th of everything, things change.

Perfect example… Def Lep’s 4th album was a big change from their first 3…

Oh man I hope I made sense:)

Best we all just wait and see.

I also heard the band confirm they would have 3 songs for Guitar Hero 4. Still I can’t believe they will have 3 songs… Guess we’ll have to wait and see. However, when will Guitar Hero 4 be out?

Def Leppard is a cool band with some great songs. I dont think that their songs will be so hard in GH, and 3 songs by the same artist in the first half of the game (or as bonus songs) is too much.

I’m sure Def Leppard will only have one song on GH4, They probably gave Activision the rights for those 3 songs and Activision will then pick one of the three.

They should have an all Def Leppard version of GH! Their songs would rock to play on this game! I seriously hope there will at least be a few of their songs on the next one!!!!!!

Good news but DEFINITELY got to be a Guitar Hero game dedicated to Def Leppard – would love the new album on there, Sparkle Lounge is NEARLY as good as Hysteria was!!!! Closer than any other album since anyway! Def Leppard ROCK!!!

3 songs of Def Leppard would be great. I got into Def Leppard through my brother. It would be greater if Guitar Hero created a Def Leppard version. They have made brilliant songs with great riffs from Steve Clark & Phil Collen. While they’re at it, they have to create a Queen version too. 2 great bands with 2 great guitarists. Queen & Leppard Forever!!!!!!

The 3 songs they listed are on the downloadable track packs for GH 3…not GH4
