I like this one. In celebration of St. Patrick’s day Guitar Hero is releasing a FREE song pack of the Awesome band The Dropkick Murphy’s. If you have never heard of them they are an Irish punk band from Boston. I highly suggest you check them out. I have been listening to them for years.

The following Songs will be included in the pack:

• “Famous for Nothing”
• “(F)lannigan’s Ball”
• “Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya.”

Maybe not the songs I would have chosen, but they are sweet anyway. The song pack will be released for FREE download on the XBOX 360 and Ps3 marketplace in Mid-March. I would assume around the time of St. Patrick’s Day (duh). This is a song pack you won’t want to miss.

Another week, Another song pack released for Guitar Hero 3! I am very glad they are not ignoring this feature of GH3 because it would be easy to forget it and just concentrate on the 3 new games this year. This keeps the gamers who have completed the game already coming back for the new fresh songs. This Modern Metal Pack features songs that are well, Modern Metal.

The following songs are included in the pack:

• “Hole in the Earth” – Deftones
• “Almost Easy” – Avenged Sevenfold
• “The Arsonist” – Thrice

I’m not a big metal fan to be honest, but I do like some of Avenged Sevenfold. Regardless it looks like a pretty good song pack. It is available on the XBOX 360 and PS3 Marketplace. Check it out!

Activision just released the latest song pack for Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock. It features 3 songs from the band No Doubt. Luckily for everyone the songs were picked from, in my opinion their best album, Tragic Kingdom.

The New tracks include the following:

• “Don’t Speak”
• “Excuse me Mr.”
• “Sunday Morning”

I really think this is a great pack choice and I wouldn’t have expected them to choose it. Anyway, the songs are available now on the XBOX 360 and PS3 online marketplaces. Go get them!

The 3 Songs included in the pack are as follows.

• “Piece of Mind” – Boston
• “Juke Box Hero” – Foreigner
• “Any Way You Want It” – Journey

It’s a pretty damn good pack if you ask me. I am also a pretty big classic rock fan though.

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Someone purchased an $89 game on ebay for $9,100 dollars.

Apparently the game was purchased as a Christmas present for the mans 15 year old son. Then one day the father came home and caught him smoking weed with some of his friends in the back yard. As a punishment the father decided to sell the kids highly desired present on ebay. Pretty harsh haha.

Much to the fathers surprise the auction became highly publicized (due to posts like this one) and the auction bidding kept going up and up. The final bid was $9,100.01! I’m not sure if the buyer actually paid that outrageous amount, but Ill see if i can find out.

If you are one of the people affected by this problem all you have to do is head over to Activisions Customer Support page and file a claim to receive a replacement copy. The fixed discs are not yet ready, but I would get in as soon as possible to ensure you get what you paid for.

There have been tons of articles around the internet heres a couple that don’t necessarily deserve their own post, but are pretty cool none the less.

Another article about the developer switch between the past Guitar Hero Games and the new GH3. Red Octane gave up the game to developer Neversoft who are also responsible for the Tony Hawk Series. Many worried that they would screw up the game, but sales tell otherwise. Check it out.

For all Wii owners here is a GH3 review specifically for the Wii version of the game. It weighs some of the pro’s and con’s of the game compared to other consoles. If you have more than one console this may be of help. Check it out.

In other news I found a pretty cool video over at Toms Games. It is crazy what they are doing with Rock Band. Those drums look awesome. I feel bad for people though, just think of all the bad singing and cheesy guitar moves everyone will have to endure.
